Valready vs Kneat, ValGenesis and Veeva
Kneat Gx, ValGenesis VLMS and Veeva Validation Management are digital validation platforms: by their vendors' own descriptions, validation work is planned and executed inside them. Valready is CSV software for smaller teams. AI drafts the computer system validation documents, a human reviews every one before release, and your Quality Unit approves them in your QMS.
| Criterion | Manual process (Word/Excel) | Valready | Kneat Gx | ValGenesis VLMS | Veeva Validation Management |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| What it covers | Whatever your own templates cover | CSV documents: URS, risk assessment, IQ/OQ protocols, RTM and a report | Described by Kneat as one digital validation platform for commissioning and qualification, equipment validation and computer system validation 1 | Described by ValGenesis as one suite for the whole CQV, CSV and CSA lifecycle 2 | Described by Veeva as covering commissioning, qualification and validation across computerized systems, facilities, utilities, equipment and processes 3 |
| How the work is done | Written, signed and filed by hand | AI drafts; a human reviews each document before release | Described by Kneat as paperless GxP validation software with configurable workflows 4 | Described by ValGenesis as replacing manual tasks and siloed tools with automated processes 5 | Per Veeva, validation activities are created and approved, and test scripts executed, digitally 6 |
| Where approval happens | In your QMS, on paper or by e-signature | In your QMS, by your Quality Unit; exports stay marked DRAFT | Described by Kneat as covering protocol creation, review, approval and test execution 7 | Not publicly documented by the vendor | Per Veeva, signatures are captured in one audit trail, in a product unified with Veeva QualityDocs and QMS 8 |
| Time to first package | Weeks to months of manual work | A target date agreed before the sprint starts | Not publicly documented by the vendor | Not publicly documented by the vendor | Not publicly documented by the vendor |
| Licence and rollout | Office tools you already have | A sprint quoted before it starts, or a Workspace subscription | Not publicly documented by the vendor | Not publicly documented by the vendor | Not publicly documented by the vendor |

When an enterprise platform is the better choice
An enterprise platform is the better choice when:
- you validate across many sites and many kinds of system, not only computerized systems;
- you need paperless test execution at scale, with evidence captured in the platform;
- validation records must live in one system you qualify, rather than in documents you export into your QMS.
Whichever you choose, approval is your Quality Unit's act in your QMS. Valready drafts and supports the review; AI never approves anything.
